Checklist Before Printing Search Engines Nutrition Games Middle School Warm Ups 7th Lesson

           Students will study and analyze nutritional information about FAST FOOD while developing habits of mind that make us successful in school, the work world, and life.  How healthy are Fries?  Cheeseburgers? Pizza? Happy Meals?  Using Excel students will compare nutritional facts such as Calories, Fat Calories, Sodium, Protein or Cholesterol.

First, lets review information on nutrition and fast food using the following resources.

  1. Fast Food Facts Kids Should Know (Students Must Read This One!)

  2. Review Nutrition Facts at US Food and Drug Administration (Select Nutrition Fact)

  3. Fast Food Facts, From the office of the Minnesota Attorney General (Interesting)

  4. Fast Food History Nutrition

  5. Kodiak-What Families Around the World eat in One Week Interesting Pictures

Now you are ready to explore some Fast Food Sites and plan your project. You must decide what fast food menu items and what nutritional facts you will compare using Excel.  Fries?  Cheeseburgers? Pizza? Happy Meals?  You must  select three or more menu items and three or more nutritional facts to compare using Excel.  Calories? Protein? Sugars? Your Choice you decide, you may want to analyze your favorite fast food eats.
