Swift 911

  • Berlin Borough, in a partnership and shared service with Camden County, is switching to the Swift911 Emergency
Notification System. In the event of an emergency, this system will enable Berlin Public Safety officials to quickly
and efficiently alert and inform our residents.

Residents who had previously enrolled in the NIXLE Emergency Alert System
    will need to
re-enroll in the new Swift911 system.

    Alerts

Subscribers will receive emergency alerts via text message(SMS), email, voice messaging, social media and the
Swift911 Public mobile app for a variety of emergency events, including:

    • Weather and traffic alerts
    • Prolonged outages
    • Hazardous material leaks
    • Missing person searches
    • Natural disaster alerts
    • Special community notifications

Once registered, you can log in at any time to update your contact information and add/remove yourself from
available list subscriptions. Participants can then opt in or out of subscribing to notifications from only Berlin
Borough or subscribing to whichever municipality in Camden County they choose. The information you submit will
only be used for emergency notification purposes.

    Required Information

The following information is required to enroll in the Swift911 notification system. Because alerts are targeted
geographically, your home address is required:

    • First and last name
    • Street address city, state, zip code (physical address, no P.O. boxes)
    • CELL phone number & HOME phone number
    • E-mail address
    • Secondary phone numbers and addresses can also be entered.

    Information for Cell Phone Users

Messages can be sent both Town-wide and to targeted geographic areas. While most published residential
landlines have been automatically enrolled in the system, residents and employees who work within Berlin Borough
will need to register their cell phones/mobile devices online.

All businesses should register, as should individuals who have unlisted phone numbers or those residents who
have changed their home phone number or address within the past year. Moreover, residents that use a cellular
phone or VoIP phone as their primary number should also register their phone number.
