Rules & Regulations for School Bus Riders
Waiting for the Bus
Be on time and at your bus stop location.
(Approximately 10 minutes prior to pick up time)
Stay off the road while waiting for the bus.
Show respect for private property, lawns, etc.
Stay out of homes & garages and be visible to the bus driver.
On the Bus
Riding the school bus is a privilege. Violation of the rules will result in the loss
of the bus privileges.
The bus driver and aide have the same authority on the bus as a teacher in
the classroom.
Seat belts "MUST" be properly worn.
When boarding go immediately to your assigned seat.
Do not extend hands, arms, or head out of the window.
Do not throw or yell anything out of the bus windows. This may cause
an accident.
Loud talking, laughing, or unnecessary confusion diverts the driver's attention
and may cause an accident.
Never tamper with or damage any bus equipment.
Treat bus equipment as you would valuable furniture in your own home or
your own car. Willful damage to seats, etc. must be paid for by the offender.
Assist in keeping the bus clean. Leave no books, lunches, trash or other articles on
the bus.
Do not eat or drink on the bus. This is a choking hazard.
Keep aisles clear of books, band instruments and other objects.
Remain seated while the bus is in motion and continue to remain seated
until the bus reaches your stop.
No animals or pets are allowed on the bus.
No smoking is permitted.
Boarding and Leaving the Bus
Students may only ride the bus to which they are assigned.
If it is necessary to cross the road after getting off the bus, cross at least
10 feet in front of the bus. Look both ways. Be alert for a danger signal from the driver.
The driver will not pick up or discharge riders at places other than the regular
bus stop.
Only students who are designated as bus riders and authorized adults are
are permitted to board the buses.
