• Fifth through Eighth Grade

    In order to qualify for the 5th through 8th Grade identified program, students are identified using multiple measures of criteria and must have the highest number of accumulated points on the gifted and talented matrix.  Identified students will participate in a Gifted and Talented pull-out class that meets for a 45-minute period once a week.

     

    Identification Process for Students in Grade 5-8

    • Cognitive Skills Test *Highest identifying factor**
    • Report Card Final Grades - 1 point will be awarded for each A received in an academic subject
    • NJSLA Scores- Reading and Math and, if applicable, Science, (Advanced Proficient)
    • MAP Testing- Language Arts and Math (Above Grade Level)
    • IXL Scores- Language Arts and Math (Above Grade Level)
    • Teacher nomination

    *All students per grade level are reevaluated each year*
