School History

Berlin Community School has a long and evolving history, reflecting both the challenges and progress in education. In 1948, during the era of de jure educational segregation in the United States, the district operated a separate school for Black children. This school had limited facilities, including an outdoor pump, outdoor restrooms, and only two indoor rooms. It was described as being in poor physical condition, highlighting the inequalities in education at the time.

Over the years, Berlin Community School has grown into a thriving educational institution, recognized for its commitment to academic excellence, character development, and music education.
