Preschool Intervention and Referral Specialist (PIRS)

- Provide coaching for the teacher to enhance his/her use of the Pyramid Model practices in the classroom (promoting social and emotional development)
- Support the classroom teacher by providing strategies and possible interventions for teachers to implement to promote the success of all students (Preschool I&RS process)
- Conduct classroom visits as necessary to coach and provide feedback to classroom staff
- Provide/Facilitate professional development
Support teachers with documenting children's social/emotional development
- Coordinate/plan developmental screening (i.e. ESI- Administered approximately 3-6 weeks into the program year)
- Follow up with children who score REFER or RESCREEN
- Furniture/Supplies/Resource that support pyramid model practices
- Conduct classroom observations using the
- Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) at least once per classroom
Corinne Mattia
Community Parent Involvement Specialist (CPIS)

- Creates positive relationships between the preschool, the community and the families. The CPIS is an active support to the teachers, families, students, and the preschool as a whole.
- Conduct Community Needs Assessment
- Share Results and Plan Activities to Address Needs
- Chair ECAC: Early Childhood Advisory Council
- Collaborate with Agencies and Support Families
- Organize Family Involvement: in class activities (wow! experiences), field trips, workshops for families
- Develop the Monthly Newsletter
- Classroom Lessons: to address needs of students
- Assisting with Conversations: regarding areas of support for students using positive, proactive, solution based thinking and strategies
- Assisting with Parent/Teacher conferences
- Facilitating and assisting with general meetings with families
- Attends PIRS Meetings

- Attends PIRS meetings/ assists with PIRS process
