Registration

Hello and welcome to our district! The mission of the Berlin Community School, in an active partnership between school and community, is to provide effective and comprehensive educational opportunities in a nurturing environment designed to challenge all students to strive for personal excellence and responsible citizenship. This will foster the pursuit of life-long learning while achieving proficiency in the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and meet the challenges of an evolving global society. We are excited to have you join us!

Enrollment in the Berlin Borough School District is processed online. Please review all instructions below prior to starting your Pre-Registration.

As part of the process you will need to upload certain key documents. It is recommended you have these documents ready as you begin the process to help make your registration go as smoothly as possible.

The following documents are required to complete registration

Proof of Residency - Provide one (1)

 

-AND-

  • Property tax bill

  • Deed

  • Mortgage Bill

  • Contract of Sale

  • Lease or rental agreement

Proof of Residency - Provide two (2)

  • Driver's License

  • Utility Bill

  • Bank Statement

  • Voter Registration

  • Permits

  • Delivery Receipt

  • Any other evidence of personal attachment to a particular location

If you do NOT own or rent - (living with a family member or friend)

Academics
  • Transfer card from previous school 

  • Most recent report card from previous district

Relationship to Student
  • Birth Certificate

  • Custody Agreement (if applicable)

Legislative Notice:

On December 2, 2015, Governor Chris Christie signed into law a measure designed to help school districts verify a student's residency for enrollment purposes.  Effective immediately, S-1946/A-3441 (P.L.2015, c.161) permits a school district to request and receive from the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission the name and address of a student's parent or guardian in order to verify a student's eligibility for enrollment in the school district.


McKinney-Vento Program Information

If your family lives in any of the following situations:

* In a shelter, motel, vehicle, or campground.

* On the street.

* In an abandoned building, trailer, or other inadequate accommodations, or

* Doubled up with friends or relatives because you cannot find or afford housing,

Then your preschool-aged and school-aged children have certain rights or protections under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act.
